ORDINANCE NO. 3665
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING A CHANGE IN ZONING FOR
CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT 9521 AND 9531
EDMONDS WAY FROM MULTI - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
(RM -1.5) AND SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (RS -8) TO
COMMUNITY BUSINESS - EDMONDS WAY (BC -EW);
AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT OF THE CITY'S OFFICIAL
ZONING MAP; AND FIXING A TIME WHEN THE SAME
SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the recommendation of the Planning
Board recommending approval of a rezone of certain real property located at 9521 and 9531
Edmonds Way from Multi - Family Residential (RM -1.5) and Single- Family Residential (RS -8) to
Community Business - Edmonds Way (BC -EW); and
WHEREAS, a closed record review of the Planning Board's recommendation was
held by the City Council on September 18, 2007; and
WHEREAS, the Edmonds City Council hereby adopts the recommendation of the
Planning Board, finding that the proposed rezone is in the public interest and satisfies all
applicable criteria of the Edmonds Community Development Code; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. For its findings in support of the rezone effected by this ordinance, the
City Council adopts by reference the Planning Division Advisory Report, Findings, Conclusions
and Recommendations for the Planning Board meeting of July 25, 2007 (File No. R- 07 -35),

specifically including but not limited to pages 4 -7. A copy of the advisory report was included
as Exhibit 2 in the proceedings before the City Council. The City Council further adopts by
reference the above recitals and the verbatim transcript of the Planning Board's July 25, 2007
public hearing, a copy of which was included as Exhibit 1 in the Council proceedings.
Section 2. That certain real property located at 9521 and 9531 Edmonds Way,
Edmonds, Washington and legally described on the attached Exhibit A is hereby rezoned from
Multi - Family Residential (RM -1.5) and Single- Family Residential (RS -8) to Community
Business - Edmonds Way (BC -EW). Exhibit A is incorporated by this reference as fully as if
herein set forth.
Section 3. The Community Services Director or his designee is hereby
authorized and directed to make appropriate amendments to the Edmonds Zoning Map in order
to properly designate the rezoned property as BC -EW pursuant to Section 2 of this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance, being an exercise of a power specifi-
cally delegated to the City legislative body, is not subject to referendum, and shall take effect
five (5) days after passage and publication of an approved summary thereof consisting of the
title.
