A motion was made by'councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Tuson that.we accept the bid from:Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Co., for the mechanical join pipe for 4000 feet of 4 inch at a price of $1.204; 2,400-feet of six inch pipe at 1.793 and 1580 feet of 8 inch pipe at 2.61 making a tmtal of the bid for $13,243.00 plu•sales tax.Delivery to be -at our stock pile or jobsite.Aiso to be, deliveryd.•in: three weeks. Motion carried. A motion was made by councilman Maxwell and seconded by councilman Kincaid that Attorney Holte get a report. on. the ownership of the property at the foot of Bell and Edmond$ streets. A motion was made by councilman Tuson that the over -hanging of signs on streets be referred to the(Fire Chief)and he to bring in a recommendation, also that a building permit be required for caa- ports. A recommendation from the water committee was requested ;that Engineer Reid check the condition of the resouvoir at ninth and Main street wi_•th''the cost to repair it. The roll call showed the following councilmen present Tuson, Kincaid. Maxwell Bishop and McGinness. Councilman Louis Talen signed -his -oath ofioffice for councilman of the. First ,w4rd.until the next city election. The water collectors and treasurers reports were read to the Council. This was the night set for the hearing on the proposed. sewer in South Edmonds. A number of people from that district came to the council with �sompof them for it and some against it. No definite action was taken on the project. The roll call showed the following Councilmen present Tuson, %lefi, Maxwell, Bishop and McGinness. This special session was for the hearing on L. I. D. 71. Four protests were read to the council. A motion was made by councilman McGinness and seconded by councilman Maxwell that lot 14"in block 80 be eliminated from the assessment roll. Motion carried. A motion was made by a'gugipa@a Bishop and seconded by councilman Maxwell that the assessment be approved and the attorney be instructed to draw the ordinance con- firming the same, said ordinance-tobe paased at -the next meeting of the council.
