INTRODUCTIONS —
MINUTES — No quorum to approve Minutes.
REPORTS -
A. Creative Programs
1. WOTS — Work has begun on the brochure.
2. Literary Walk — Deferred.
Public Art — Chapin reported that the Parks Manager reviewed sites for the potential donation of a
large sculpture, Aspen Goats, and suggested that the site just north of the entry gate to Yost park
would be the only feasible site. The City consulted with the Washington Cities Insurance
Association through the Finance Director and concluded that the piece could be installed with a 6'
fall zone that met playground standards. It may be necessary to bury the first level of the piece in
order to have enough space around it given the large trees around the site. The issue of foundation
has not been fully explored. Commissioners thought the site seemed appropriate for the piece,
goats and the forested hills of the park, and would provide an amenity and moment of surprise for
people walking into the park. Further discussions will take place at the June meeting.
Chapin briefly discussed the potential public art project at the entry to the Library when the old book
drop is demolished next winter.
4. City Strategic Plan — Chapin reported that the consultant has started working and a review of the
items related to the EAC will be deferred to the June meeting.
B. Capital Projects
1. Five Corners Roundabout — Deferred.
2. Cultural Heritage Tour — Installation planned for late May and during June. Dedication potentially
on July 17 at the beginning of the Art Walk.
C. Funding & Administration
1. Code of Ethics — Discussion deferred to June meeting.
