REPORTS -
A. Creative Programs
AUDIENCE
Best Book Poster Contest — Maloney commented on how much she enjoyed being part of the selection
process and the event. It was a full house, with all but one school participating, and Commissioners
agreed that Kvasnosky did an outstanding presentation. The partnership for Friends of the Library and the
school district has been a successful one on the 20 years of doing this program.
Music at the Library program — Conefrey reported that he and Chapin had a proposed list of six events for
the Music at the Library Series 2017-18. Commissioners discussed the proposed event dates and
preformers and concurred that the schedule be sent to the Library for review. A possible program in early
December for children would be up to the Library to plan. EAC funds the Wintergrass Preview event and
the Library/Friends pay the stipends for other groups. Ideas for future were also discussed. Kaplan and
Rathvon reported on attending the last concert in the series with Ian Dobson.
3. Website/Public Art Map —Commissioners have had an opportunity to review the website and Sharp will
meet with staff to discuss possible changes to the website. Staff has not had time to make any further
significant progress on the map so discussion is postponed.
4. On the Fence — The new installation by Elise Konscek was installed and press releases will go out.
Commissioners were asked to think further about promoting the opportunity and ways to engage more
artists. Muir suggested several newsletters that she will research.
S. Summer Concerts Schedule — The City Council has the schedule for signing up to introduce concerts at
City Park and procedures will be reviewed in June.
6. Tourism Promotion Review Committee -Applications are due June 1. Muir, Sharp and Rathvon
volunteered to meet to review applications on June 2 at 1 pm. The recommendations will be forwarded to
the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee for review at their meeting at the end of June.
7. Write on the Sound — Kaplan reported that the schedule is close to finalized and the committee had their
last meeting to lay out the schedule for the three days. She noted that it is important for Commissioners
