July 18, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Co -Chairperson Lisa Palmatier at 3:00pm at the Edmonds Memorial
Cemetery.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of June 20, 2013 were approved as amended.(Names corrected --Betty Gaeng, Mary Langrill,
& Sarah Cocker) & ("We will ask Lisa to do a press release for the National Guard Ceremony on July
16, 2013 at the Cemetery'.) (Hoggins/Weiss).

Lisa said that since the meeting is at the The Cemetery and not at the Francis Anderson Center, we
have no Financial Report. Also the interest had not been added in for the month of June.
Rich talked to Laurie Palmer in the Finance Department. Ron said that The Cemetery's cash balance was
combined with the Machinery and Equipment Value. That is why our cash balance is short so much
money. Cliff said that it has never been included in the Budget that way before.
Someone needs to clarify and rectify this matter soon.

(Cliff & Melinda were not able to work on the number corrections for this report.)
Pat Terry-Cano from "Woodway Living" came to the cemetery office in May and did an article with
Cliff on the Cemetery for their publication which goes out to all Woodway residents.
Old Business:
Distribution of Cemetery Brochures:
There was no one from the Cemetery Board available to distribute the Cemetery Brochures to the
church sites this month. Monthly distribution will resume in September.
Walk Back in Time Recap, July 18th:
The program was well received. There were lots of compliments from the people who attended this
year's event. There were 100 plus people with $11.00 in donations. Some speakers started too soon
and some could not be heard. We can discuss changing the format for next year.
NEW BUSINESS:
Saturday Market at the Museum:
Cemetery Ghosts have been invited to stand on the Museum stairs during the Saturday Market. Board
members were not able to do this before the WBIT.
Ad in the Edmonds/Woodway High School Football Programs:
The ads cost $75. last year. A motion was made to do them again this year.(Harrison/Weiss) Motion
passed.
Brainstorming of New Ideas for Fall and 2014:
Be thinking about new ideas for future meetings.
Guide To Edmonds:
Our "What's Happening in Edmonds" Ad was distributed in the Guide to Edmonds through The Beacon
Newspaper at a cost to us of $35.
Board Vacancies:
Linda, The Mayor's Assistant, gets the applications for people applying to the Cemetery Board.
Memorial Day Event:
Sally emailed Thank You's to the people who participated in this year's ceremony. She received many
replies back from those she thanked.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
At the August meeting, we will talk about getting the Financial Statement Corrected and Board Meeting
Attendance. Lisa will be absent for the August meeting.
