CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lisa Palmatier at 4:00pm at the Anderson Center in Room 113.

APRROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes of July 181h meeting were approved as amended. (Meeting was called order by Chairperson — Lisa Palmatier.)

Minutes of August 15th meeting were approved as amended. (Sally Harrison was excused) (In 2015, Carrie reported that
$100,000 will be budgeted from the Capital Improvement Fund to survey/map the cemetery ground accurately to
determine the location and boundary of each gravesite.) Hoggins/Weiss
FINANCE REPORT
There is no financial report for August 31". Lisa explained why the current balance of the 130 Fund is lower than we
thought it should be. The equipment (lawn mower) was listed in the Cash Balance at the beginning of the year and then
moved to an Equipment category, which then lowered the total cash balance.
STAFF REPORT: Carrie Hite
On October 1st the Mayor gives the budget to City Council as an ongoing subsidy to the cemetery to keep services at the
current level. The Mayor's intent
2014 it will be $16,595
2015 it will be $41,000 to make up for the $25,000 deficit. And it will be $40,000 per year after that.
Carrie will email the Cemetery Board about the public hearings for the budget.
If Cliff is to come to a meeting, we need to tell Rich who will invite him

1. Fall Distribution of Cemetery Brochures

b. Lisa will take them to Faith Community Church.
2. The Washington National Guard
a. The Washington National Guard will be holding their Veterans' Memorial Tribute Program at the
cemetery on the last Tuesday of each month. The Next service will be on Tuesday, September 24,
2013 at 10:00am. It is too late to announce it in the Beacon. Dale will see if the V.F.W. Will do a
press release for the events. Dale will see if the event is happening every month. Maybe we could
get a banner to advertise the monthly event.
3. Veterans' Day Event
Dale and Betty Gaeng will do a Veterans' Tour on November 11t" at 11:00am. Dale wants it to be a
Cemetery Board event and to do it annually. The board agreed. Cliff is aware that the event is
happening.
4. Board Meeting Attendance
a. Call when you will be absent from a meeting, so that you can be excused.
B. New Business
1. 2014 Cemetery Board Nominations
Be thinking about the nominations for officers for the 2014 Cemetery Board chair, vice -chair and
secretary.
2. 2014 Advertising
a. Myedmondsnews.com costs $1440 per year. Mynewsnetwork.com for Edmonds, Lynnwood,
Mountlake Terrace costs $1920 per year and gets 160,000 hits per month. It was moved that the
board selects Mynewsnetwork.com for $1920.00 per year. (Hoggins/Weiss) Motion Passed. Melissa
will contact them and have them bill the City of Edmonds. The board will also be thinking about
whether to spend $720 to put the cemetery ad in the Beacon every other month in 2014.
3. Cemetery Surveys
a. Lisa will check with Sarah Cocker about whether surveys are coming in.
