CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Lisa Palmatier at 4:00pm at the Anderson Center.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of September 19th meeting could not be approved due to no quorum. (They will be
approved at the November meeting.)

Cliff reported that there will not be a Veterans' Military Tribute Program in October because the Army
National Guard did not receive a list of Veterans to be honored from the government this month.
Lisa said that Cliff asked about putting a Cemetery ad in the Edmonds Woodway Boys and Girls
Basketball program. It is $235 for 1/8th page or $125. for 1/16th page. The Board did not have a quorum
to act on it, and we do not know the balance of the advertizing budget. Rich will talk to Cliff about it.
OLD BUSINESS:
Monthly Distribution of Cemetery Brochures:
Dwaine took them to Rock of Hope Church and Lisa took them to Faith Community Church.
Melinda will take them this month to Edmonds Open Bible Church and to the Edmonds Church of God.
Veterans' Day Event:
Dale and Betty Gaeng will lead the event on November 11th at 11:00am at the Cemetery.
Dale will give a Public Service Announcement at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 22"d
The 8 gravestones by the flag pole will be honored. They will visit selective sites to represent the
Veterans of all the wars. There are 400 Veterans in the Cemetery.
They will hand out the 2 Cemetery brochures to the visitors at this event.
Lisa will do a press release.
Monthly National Guard Ceremony:
Fred Apgar said that the VFW and the Legion will buy the a 3 foot by 8 foot banner and put it up at the
Cemetery one week before the Ceremony. Melissa and Fred will work on the wording for the banner.
Chris Edwards is part of the Memorial Team for The National Guard.
NEW BUSINESS:
2014 Cemetery Board Nominations:
This item will be put on the November agenda. By Email, Sally said that she is resigning due to family
issues. Lisa thanked her for her service. In January, Lisa and Melinda will not be continuing when their
terms expire after 6 years on the Board. Dale will make a pitch for new Cemetery Board members at the
City Council Meeting.
2014 Advertizing:
Melissa reported that the Cemetery ad is on all 3 sites of myedmondsnews.com.
Cemetery Surveys:
Sarah Cocker reported that two surveys were received in December 2012, one in February 2013, and
four in May 2013. None have been sent since May. Maybe Cliff is not bringing the needed information
from the receipts to Sarah. Rich should talk to Cliff about this.
