2015-02-19 Cemetery Board MinutesCity of Edmonds Edmonds Memorial Cemetery Board Meeting Minutes February 19, 2015 Francis Anderson Center, Room 113 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Jerry Janacek at 4:00 pm Members Present Dale Hoggins, Melissa Johnson, Joan Longstaff, Jerry Janacek, Patrick Kelly, Peggy Irwin Staff Present Rich Lindsay Guests Susan and Craig Cyr Approval of Minutes January 2015 and November 2014 were approved so motioned by Dale and Pat. Sales Report Sales and Services from January 16, 2015 to February 18, 2015 Month YTD Goal Grave Sales 2 2 40 Burials 4 6 55 Niche Sales 2 5 25 Inurnments 1 2 25 Staff Report Cliff Edwards sent a written staff report stating 1) We need to change the dates on the street banners for Memorial Day and Walk Back in Time. Rich Lindsay will have it done in house. 2) He wanted to know if the "Cemetery Rules & Regulations" are done yet. They are not. 3) Has the "Code" for board members been finalized yet? They are not finished yet. Old Business The Memorial Day Committee will continue to meet every first Monday. The notes from the February 2, 2015 were presented. Peggy and Joan need cemetery badges, Jerry will follow up. We will make labels to upgrade our brochures in house. New Business The sum of $300.00 was approved for the sound system on Memorial Day and will be paid for out of the 130 fund. Rich got the cemetery in the Dex book at no increase in price. A survey is necessary to verify the location of old graves as many were done long ago without recording their location. Funding will be sought. Susan and Craig Cyr requested that we continue to investigate "green burials" and we shall do so. Announcements One more board member is needed and it will be announced at the Memorial Day Ceremony by the emcee. It was noted by all members and Rich that Cynthia Cruz is highly valued and respected for her competency and hard work. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 5:17 pm Next Meeting: March 19, 2015
