Call to Order
Vice -Chair Melissa Johnson called the meeting to order at 4:01 pm

Approval of Minutes

March 16, 2017 minutes were approved with no changes. Motion to approve
by Joan Longstaff, seconded by Betty Gaeng, approved.
Finance Report: No Finance report was available.
Chair Report:
Cynthia Cruz published a media release regarding opening for one more
board member and posted it to Facebook.
Staff Report:
• April Sexton report was reviewed and is attached.
• David Davidson and Alice Atwood and WWU students are cataloging the
entire Cemetery and Columbarium. This will take months to complete but
will be a great result.
• Attempts are being made to cancel the Dex advertising contract.
• The sidewalk is completed and Rich is very satisfied with the quality of the
work.
• There is a shortage of seasonal employees applying for open positions, so
they are operating on minimal staff.
• Movement of the Veteran's Memorial monument is delayed due to shortage
of employees at this time and will not be completed by the Memorial Day
program.
• Cliff reported that there are 625 veterans in the Cemetery and Columbarium.

Old Business:
• Memorial Day ceremony planning is in progress.
New Business:
• Betty reports that she has obtained personal family histories of many people
buried or interred at the Cemetery from the Sno-Isle Genealogical Society.
• Richard Marin was sent a thank you note.
• Joan Longstaff would like to distribute paper brochures to Rotary Club
meetings regarding the Memorial Day Ceremony.
• We have eight veterans from the Spanish-American War interred in the
Cemetery.
Announcements:
• Peggy will pick up the coffee from Walnut Street Coffee for the ceremony.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:54 pm by Melissa Johnson.
