Edmonds Memorial Cemetery Board Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:04 pm.

Approval of Minutes
August 17, 2017 minutes were approved. Motion to approve by Melissa
Johnson, seconded by Kelly Sawyer, approved.
Finance Report: The July report was available and is attached.
Chair Report:
• Betty and Jerry will be doing a history presentation at Edmonds Landing
October 19tn.
Carrie Hite will be at November board meeting to discuss mapping project.
Publicity for Memorial Monument was discussed.
Staff Report:
• Sexton's report was available and is attached.
Updates for all boards are to be presented to Council in January.

Old Business:
• At the last meeting, the weeds along 9th were mentioned. Rich has had them
removed since that meeting.
New Business:
• Rich will interview consultants to begin the process to enlarge the
Columbarium.
• The guest, longtime resident Carolyn Henry, requested that she donate a
bench for a seating area near the Columbarium. Peggy Irwin motioned to
approve, Kelly Sawyer seconded and the motion was approved to begin the
process. Carolyn will be funding this as a gift of appreciation to Edmonds.
Announcements:
• Melissa and Dale Hoggins will meet to update the Memorial Day spreadsheet.
• Betty will correct the Cemetery Timeline sheet which was prepared for the
Walk Back in Time.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:55 pm by Jerry Janacek.

Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 4 pm, at Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main Street.
