Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.

Approval of Minutes
• November 16, 2017 minutes were approved. Motion to approve by Melissa
Johnson, seconded by Peggy Irwin, approved.
Finance Report: The October and November reports were available and are
attached.
Chair Report:
• Sadly, Kelly Sawyer has resigned from the Board due to a conflict with work.
• The schedule of the meetings for 2018 was distributed.
Staff Report:
• Sexton's report was available and is attached.
• The pressure washing of the Columbarium is done. Some vandalism
occurred after the completion and is currently being cleaned up.
• Cliff Edwards' computer will soon be connected to the City website when
they implement the new Cemetery software.

Old Business:
• The Memorial Monument pad has been poured. Installment is expected in
February.
• The Board will be distributing brochures next month at various locations.
• The schedule for the Walk Back in Time will be in the next Craze that comes
out in April.
New Business:
• The Board needs to recruit for two new Board members.
• Betty Lou Gaeng made the front page of the Beacon with her article. Her
articles regarding Edmonds history are appreciated and bring notoriety to
the Cemetery and Cemetery Board.
• Memorial Day Planning: this year's theme will be Iraq and Afghanistan
veterans. Mike Denton is the new post commander for the VFW. The
Memorial Day planning committee meets the first Monday of every month
February through May at Bank of Washington at 3 pm.
• Etched in Stone is a poem for the Monument Dedication.
