Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.

Approval of Minutes
• July 19, 2018 minutes were approved. Motion to approve by Jerry, seconded by
Joan/Tracy, approved.
Finance Report: The July report reviewed, and attached.
Chair Report:
• Carolyn Henry resigned the board due to time constraints, her letter of resignation
was read.
• Jerry announced 3 more meetings until the end of the year.
• A photo of a cemetery in Norway was passed around as a point of interest.
Staff Report:
• Sexton's report was available.

Old Business:
• Rules and Regulations passed out to Board, Edmonds City Code as it relates to the
Cemetery and Cemetery Funds 130 and 137 discussed.
• Reviewed our Financial Report and how this relates/compares to the budget and
our spending. Tracy would like to explore this further.
• Discussed themes for the next Memorial Day program 2019.
• Discussed themes for the Walk Back in Time 2019; Betty suggested visiting former
Edmonds teachers grave sites. She will research and present her findings for the
September Board meeting.
• Discussed the Satisfaction Survey we have used in the past; Jerry will bring a copy to
the next board meeting to review.
New Business:
Presentation given to the Board by Kathy Hashbarger of MyEdmondsNews.com to
create a presence in the online community for the Cemetery. We received the media
kit which she will also email to us for review. She can work with us to put a package
that most benefits the Cemetery.
Reviewed our Sales and Burial Numbers, it was suggested that we look at the trend
over the past 3-4 years and reset the goals accordingly.
