Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.

Approval of Minutes
• November 2018 meeting minutes reviewed. No quorum to approve.
Finance Report:
• October 2018 Transaction Summary reviewed.
Chair Report:
• Board member Betty Gaeng was in an accident and hospitalized for a broken hip
and shoulder injury; board members signed a card to be delivered to her by Jerry.
• Looking for 2 new board members; discussed ideas for recruitment.
• Reviewed our Satisfaction Survey; we will revise and add new questions as well as
look at it as another possible recruitment tool for new board members. We will
re -implement the survey when it is finished being revised.
• Carrie Hite has been invited to the February board meeting to give an update on
the Cemetery Mapping Project.
Staff Report:
• Rich gave Tracy the grave site location map for our Walk Back in Time sites to be
visited this year. Discussed the proximity of a couple of sites and how they might
impact our presentations.
• Cliff continues to update Pontem with cemetery data; the process is slow and
steady.
• A new Honda mower was purchased for the cemetery. The last mower lasted 21
years.
• Cemetery phone service has been going out with poor response by Frontier. IT is
working on the problem for the City with a switch back to Comcast which will
deliver better service than Frontier.
• Columbarium repair will be scheduled later in the year when the weather dries
out.
• We have $1800.00 in our advertising budget - will discuss advertising options at
the February board meeting.

Old Business:
• Memorial Day Planning - Discussed planning meetings which will be set up by
Melissa for the 1st Monday of the month at 3pm starting in February at the Bank
of Washington in Edmonds. We will invite Mike Denton Commander of VFW Post
8870 to come to the meetings. Melissa will send out reminder emails prior to each
meeting.
• Working on spreadsheet to make it readable for everyone on the board.
New Business:
• Tracy did a 2018 Sales and Projections report which she will continue to do for
2019.
