Kellie Stickney provides some background information about SustainableWorks: they are a non- profit general contractor in energy efficiency with a quality jobs orientation. They were refunded in June of 2012 through June of 2013 through the Washington State Jobs bill. Edmonds was their 3rd pilot project when they were here first in 2011. At that time they were trying to build the market. Two years later they now have a new director who has a construction/finance background; they are building a new quality crew; they have changed their process — they now organize, do the work, and then continue to serve the community; they are completing more energy efficiency projects with much more follow-through; they have restructured their incentives; they are now providing solar incentives; they have recruited many more contractors and created more competition among them; and they now have vehicles for serving renters and low-income households with energy savings kits and training programs. Presentation ended with a request from SustainableWorks for the CPC to partner with them. CPC-MeetingAgenda130307.doc I Subcommittee & Member Reports 1. Cynthia Pruitt reported on the "success story" subcommittees work. They interviewed Steve Bernheim last week and they are working on writing up a report. Cynthia said she would like to see some partnership with SustainableWorks so we are not reinventing the wheel. Let's look at what our goals and use/piggyback on existing processes. Anyone in this committee who would like to help Val Stewart work on this. Howard will Janice Freeman -- if we are going to align ourselves with them then we need to be able to have input/oversee. 2. Val Stewart asked if any committee members were willing to work with heron following -up with SustainableWorks. Howard Chermak volunteered. 3. Hank feels that the CPC would be able to pick -out a few things we could partner with SustainableWorks on. Would like prioritization about what they would expect from us. 4. Janice Freeman feels if we do align ourselves with them then we need to be able to have input/oversee. CPC-MeetingAgenda130307.doc I
