Subcommittee reports/project data updates Meeting Minutes June 6, 2013 Attendees: Jim Stevens, Cynthia Pruitt, Janice Freeman, Robert Freeman, Steve Fisher, Rob Chave, Howard Chermak Approval of May Meeting Minutes 1. Rebecca Wolfe made a motion to accept the May meeting minutes. Cynthia Pruitt seconded the motion. Meeting minutes were approved with no changes. Eco-Schools Program 1. Rebecca reported that she and Val Stewart were going to focus on just one school — Westgate. They will be talking to the School District's board. Steve recommended the Washington Green Schools program. The National Wildlife Federation has a program, also. Subcommittee Reports 1. Success Interviews —reported by Jim Stevens a. Jim reported that the committee has finished a write up of an interview of Strom Peterson but will not publish it now because we have entered the campaign season. We will be interviewing people at the Methodist Church next. Rob said he would find a location on the website to post the completed interviews. CPC-MeetingAgenda130801.doc 2. Outreach & Reporting — reported by ? a. The whole group discussed the status of the display board in city hall; it's unclear who has the lead in locating it and deciding what can be displayed on it. Committee Member Reports 1. It was reported that the strategic plan was approved by the council. We should think about its relationship to the Climate Action Plan. Rob suggested that we think about reporting to the council soon. 2. Jim reported that Yost Pool has boiler problems. The boiler will be replaced by an on -demand boiler. Shower heads will be replaced, also for a total energy savings of 9.1% 3. Bob reported on Eugene's Climate Action Plan and the implementation report. 4. Rebecca attended an event, 'Our Water; Finding Solutions.' 5. Cynthia reported attendance at a workshop where the 'Conservation Services Group' reported on work done on Bainbridge Island. She recommended these consultants for future work with Edmonds. 6. Steve discussed water kits that are available [through the City?] 7. Bob recommended the book Overheated by Guzman.
