CALL TO ORDER
Commissioner Mike Fields called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm.
MINUTES:
Commissioner Mike Fields made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of January 11, 2017. Commissioner
Davis seconded the motion. The motion carried.

POLICE BUSINESS
Review and Approval of the Lateral Level Police Officer Eligibility List
Sergeant McClure explained there was one new name on the eligibility list (Marcus Stanley) and that this individual (who
is from Arizona) was in the background stage. He further explained that there had been a lot of interest expressed in
lateral level positions from out of state candidates. There was a short discussion that followed by the Board as to what the
interest was in moving to Washington.
Chair H. Scott McEwen made a motion to approve the Lateral Level Police Officer Eligibility List. Commissioner
Davis seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Review and Approval of the Animal Control Officer Eligibility List
Sergeant McClure explained that there were two candidate names that had been removed from the list. Furthermore, the
current candidate on the list (Patrick Cassin) has notified him that there is another position that he is in background for
with another local jurisdiction. Based on the conversation with the candidate, this individual may be withdrawing from the
list.
Sergeant McClure explained that there is an open Police Services Assistant position and that there have been some
challenges with getting candidates to respond to requests for interviews for. There was a short discussion that followed by
the Commission regarding the Animal Control Officer duties.
Commissioner Davis made a motion to approve the Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement Officer Eligibility
List. Commissioner Fields seconded the motion. The motion carried.

OTHER
It was noted that with the potential retirements and open recruitments in the department, it was expected that there will
regular eligibility lists (for certification by the Commission) that will necessitate regular meetings each month.
The meeting adjourned at 7:18 p.m.
