Meeting scheduled for 7:30-8:15 due to Mayor's State of the City Address:
7:31AM Cadence called the meeting to order
In Attendance: Cadence Clyborne, Robert Boehlke, Clayton Moss, Jacob Comstock, Kim Wahl, Patrick
Doherty, John Rankin, Juliana Van Buskirk, Jonathan McQuade
Guests: Katherine Jacobs - Gallery North, Colleen and Michael Bowman - Cest La Vie
Last meeting Minutes: Robert said he did not second the motion at last meeting and it was determined
that Jacob seconded. Vote to approve meeting minutes today: Robert moved to approve, John
second. 6 yes and 1 abstention (Juliana was not at last meeting)
Cadence met with Edmonds Community College and the process will continue of recruiting new
businesses to Edmonds. Working on the questions; What types of businesses do we want? Who do we
want? How do we make it happen?
Cadence confirmed: Annual Meeting: Monday 4/25/16 6pm tentatively set for Plaza room ... venue could
change.
Patrick: Downtown Restrooms moving forward but need about 30k.
Holiday market: Patrick asked for a committee to be formed to assess moving forward with the holiday
market... possible expansion to the street and how will it be effected with new
restrooms. Possible DEMA tie-in with committee members.
Work plan: Cadence suggested committees take a look at the section in the work plan. Ordinance: how
we handle categories of business Le currently by appointment and open door. Should we add another
category "business where no one comes in". Boundary increase: tabled to next meeting for further
discussion Agency Agreement: 5010 working for us
Should date to submit work plan be 10/1 or 9/1. Currently says 9/1. Most thought 10/1. Cadence
checking on this and will report back at next meeting.
Bylaws:
sec 3.1 Name change to ED!
Officers: Should VP automatically transition to President. Currently says board members one
year. Should we change? Tabled to next meeting due to time constraint.
sec 5.4: Adjust standing committees? Cadence suggested we all take some time to read thru the
committee descriptions and discuss at next meeting
sec 9.2: Special meeting change? Also make sure to post we meet once a month in the summer and
holiday months.
sec 20: Amend? Table to next meeting
