Call to order - 8:03 am
Approval of 3/23 Minutes - Cadence moves to approve minutes, Kimberly seconds
President's Report - Annual meeting:
• 3 positions available, 2 by appointment and 1 open door
• Items printed for annual meeting
• Matt McCulloch only nominee for open door business
• Board members made Edits to ballot.
Treasurer's Report - No report
New businesses - None
Committee Updates
Marketing:
• Transit ads are being developed
• Working on capturing whale watching crowd
• Want to show people can satisfy all needs in Edmonds.
Communications and outreach: No report
Professional business resources: Home -based business program was helpful and will want to do another
one and partner with city. Generally most are on board.
Grant Program: Expecting a submission from Brouhaha
Administration: had meeting to discuss hours and what falls in as payable and what scope of work should
be. Administrator is for project management and will help get things done to keep tasks moving forward
City update -
• City has members going to RevitalizeWA conference this year.
• Employee parking will change; will eliminate some employee parking on 5th avenue south.
• Will put stripes on parallel spaces to get most parking spots on the street
• Tourism brochures are printed. City has new tourism website being created.
• Western WA students re -launching green initiative.
• Diversity commission doing study to make city more inclusive.
• Parking enforcement, another hire is in the process to increase enforcement.
New Business -
Cadence reminded board that expense reports should clearly define and state the committee
budget they belong to based on board approval for expenses in order to accurately track budgets
and expenses.
• Ribbon cutting for veterans plaza, and officers need to be decided.
