2. Public Comment - none
Reallocation of Waterfront Festival Funding for 2019: During the budget discussion at the
6/12/18 meeting a $1,000 award was recommended for the 2019 Edmonds Waterfront Festival.
There have been rumors that the Waterfront Festival will not be presented in 2019. After
discussion Pat moved: in the event the Waterfront Festival is not held in 2019, the $1,000 to be
awarded for that event will be recommended for allocation to Cascadia Art Museum. Frances
seconded, motion approved. CAM applied for $8,000 but was only awarded $6,000 for 2019.
4. Miscellaneous: Patrick updated on the Edmonds Tourism partners meeting that will be held on
October 3. The partners include the City, ECA, CAM, PSE, Chamber, Port, and BID/Ed!. The goal is
to find new ways to collectively promote Edmonds. Advertising in the WA State Visitor's Guide
will be discussed. There is a new tourism video playing on the website and Facebook pages.
Contest now running for daytrip videos. The application for Creative District Designation will be
turned in to the State Arts Commission by mid to late October with the hopes of being selected
by the end of the year.
After discussion about the requirements and state law regarding the Lodging Tax Funds and how
the committee can recommend spending of these funds, it was decided to hold a retreat during
the first quarter of 2019. Proposed outcomes might include a strong understanding of the
purpose for Lodging Tax Funds, clarification of the financial flow for Edmonds, reserve funds and
overall philosophy of the LTAC. The tentative date of the retreat is Wednesday, January 23, 2019
from 2:30 — 5 p.m. A facilitator will be contacted to conduct the meeting.
