CALL TO ORDER
Co -Chair Mike Hathaway called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Commissioner Meeks was unable to
attend the meeting.
APPROVAL OF THE MEETING MINUTES/AGENDA
Commissioner Brent Hunter made a motion to approve meeting minutes of June 5, 2014 and the
current meeting agenda. Co -Chair Rosales seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Co -Chair Rosales stated that she wanted to add the memo to the Mayor to the agenda.
DISCUSSION/CONTINUED DISCUSSION
Commissioner Hunter stated that there were items outside the scope of the Commission that would be
included in the memo to the Mayor (copied to Council). These items included:
• Council workload
• MEBT/PERS benefit
• Professional development
There was further discussion about the salary charts and to clarify which Commissioners were working on
which specific items. Commission Hunter stated that he would update the memo to the Mayor and the
memo regarding the compensation schedule as well as the Council comparative salary information. The
Commission requested that Ms. Hardie create a PowerPoint slide for the presentation on the Council
comparative information once it was completed by Commissioner Hunter.
The Council further discussed whether or not there was a need to have an additional meeting. As
Commissioner Meeks was unable to attend the meeting, the Commission stated that they would
notify/remind him of the July 15 presentation and to get any additional feedback for the presentation and
memo.
Co -Chair Hathaway adjourned the meeting at 7:25 pm.
