Old Business Kay - Would like pictures from AET, Lindsay Donahue, in Hekinan, for
advertising, so looking for contact email for her.
lyoko - Hekinan will send 10 students out of 22 applicants
Jill - April 27 is date for meeting with the families of students
Jill - Still waiting for interview dates for Edmonds students
Jill - Five potential Edmonds students are a diverse group
lyoko - Visit period will be August 9, 2012, through August 21, 2012
lyoko - Awaiting final ticket pricing for Korean Airline tickets
Marlene - Cannot have a Saturday market presence without vendor
New Business Beth & lyoko - Recommend creation of gift log between cities
lyoko - Will move forward on flight reservations for students
Kay - Facebook Page updates and discussion of Administrators
Kay - Motion to purchase 250 ESCC business cards for expenditure of no
more than $20
Marlene - Seconds Motion to purchase 250 ESCC business cards for
expenditure of no more than $20

Kody - Would like to investigate possible 501(c)(3) organization to
increase fundraising potential through incentivizing contributions and
donations, will consult with City Attorney
Kay - Will establish contact with Friends of ESCC to learn more about
their organization
Yoshi - ESCC needs to fill vacated Treasurer's position
Kody - Willing to volunteer for Treasurer post if needed or desired

Code for Commissioner Attendance
Commissioners are required to attend at least 70% of the meetings in a calendar year and cannot miss
more than three (3) consecutive meetings.
Absences are excused for any of the following reasons:
• Business or employment reasons
• Extended vacations of longer than two weeks
• Illness or death in the immediate family
(Though not stated in the Edmonds Municipal Code, it is assumed that illness of a Commissioner is also
an excused absence.)
If a Commissioner does not have regular attendance, the Mayor's Office will send a letter to the
Commissioner advising them that the position needs to be vacated.
