Call to Order 7:00 PM
Welcome Guests Edmonds Floretum Garden Club representative expresses interest in
cooperation with ESCC to establish community garden in honor of Edmonds-Hekinan
Sister City relationship and would work with ESCC to help provide
delegation entertainment in exchange for cultural knowledge
Kathy Sudokand expresses interest in host family arrangements and
involvement with the ESCC
ESCC will send request to Mayor regarding desired appointment of new
Commissioner Jill Van Berkhom

Treasurer's Report None
Correspondence Received letter of appreciation from Hekinan Mayor
Received roster of Hekinan exchange students
Informed Hekinan that there will be no autumn visiting delegation
Received final dates of summer student delegation (8/9 - 8/21)
Old Business Michelle met with Mayor Earling re Saturday Market and has
come to agreement for Museum to permit free ESCC presence and
recommends investigation into Hazel -Miller Foundation
Recommended that old pamphlets be used for current tourism
promotional marketing
Moved to authorize spending authority of 100 Fund for production of
tourism -promotion -related marketing materials — unanimous consent
Commission has been assured by City Staff that it is allowable for
donations and contributions to be solicited as tax-deductible
New Business Parental consent form for high school volunteers is good, but Sue will
look into getting a picture/social media clause inserted
Host family recruiting has come together for summer delegation
Preliminary itinerary prepared and discussed, almost complete but still a
work open for addition or change before next meeting
Mariners' tickets commitments will need to be made soon
T-Shirt design contest flyer approved and ready to move ahead
Kay will check the ESCC Gmail account regularly and alert the person
concerned if there is new email.
Tabled 251h anniversary discussion, five year plan review
Next Meeting June 25th from 7pm to 9pm
Michelle will chair in Yoshi's absence

CODE FOR COMMISSIONER ATTENDANCE
Commissioners are required to attend at least 70% of the meetings in a calendar year and cannot miss
more than three (3) consecutive meetings.
Absences are excused for any of the following reasons:
• Business or employment reasons
• Extended vacations of longer than two weeks
• Illness or death in the immediate family
(Though not stated in the Edmonds Municipal Code, it is assumed that illness of a Commissioner is also
and excused absence.)
If a Commissioner does not have regular attendance, the Mayor's Office will send a letter to the
Commissioner advising them that the position needs to be vacated.
