Minutes ESCC needs to approve minutes in August for March, April, May, June,
and July meetings. Final minutes can be provided to City at that time.
Treasurer's Report Report emailed out by Kody.

Official Business
Hekinan Delegation: Very extensive discussion surrounding the myriad
details of the upcoming student delegation between
August 9 and August 20. Rita has prepared cost
estimates for itinerary activities and will distribute
finalized documents when available.
2012 Student
Delegation Itinerary: Delegation Final.docx
Saturday Market: Date will be August 18. Discussion of staffing for the
booth and schedule established. Raffle baskets will be
prepared by then. T-shirts and bracelets will be ready.
Mariners' Tickets: Still short on the number of tickets needed to be
purchased. Good progress is being made and will
continue to work on reaching goal.
Hazel -Miller Grant: Discussion regarding application to the foundation for
grant funding for students with financial need. Broad
agreement expressed among Commissioners over the
importance of sourcing funds to equalize opportunity
for students regardless of parental affluence. Michelle
will coordinate with other Commissioners to submit the
application in the next couple of weeks.
Student Recruitment: Work should begin for the recruitment of students for
the delegation next year.
Tabled 251h anniversary discussion, five year plan review, display board

CODE FOR COMMISSIONER ATTENDANCE
Commissioners are required to attend at least 70% of the meetings in a calendar year and cannot miss
more than three (3) consecutive meetings.
Absences are excused for any of the following reasons:
• Business or employment reasons
• Extended vacations of longer than two weeks
• Illness or death in the immediate family
(Though not stated in the Edmonds Municipal Code, it is assumed that illness of a Commissioner is also
and excused absence.)
If a Commissioner does not have regular attendance, the Mayor's Office will send a letter to the
Commissioner advising them that the position needs to be vacated.
