GUESTS: none AGENDA: Approved and seconded. MINUTES: • August minutes will be presented and approved at the next meeting. TREASURER'S REPORT: by Carolyn LaFave • A check for $260 was received from the Mariners. Carolyn will reply to them with feedback about our experience. CORRESPONDENCE: • none CHAIR REPORT: by Michelle Van Tassell • none PR REPORT: • none STAFF REPORT: by Carolyn LaFave • Thank you letters have been sent to donors for student delegate visit. • AET, Chaperone positions are coming up. Website info needs to be updated. We need an official letter of intent from Lauren. (Contract ends 8/31/15) • The Mayor is presenting the budget to the City Council on October 11. • Michelle R's student representative position is up and she needs to reapply. STUDENT REPORT: by Michelle Rockstead • None OLD BUSINESS: by Michelle Van Tassell • Will the student delegates make a presentation at a city council meeting? Other suggestions are articles for the Edmonds news, school presentations for recruiting new delegates. • Phil made a video, which was on Facebook. Can this be used for the presentation? lyoko will contact Karen and Phil. • Karen Heinekin was interviewed tonight before the meeting. Marlene and lyoko asked for a vote and her position was approved unanimously. She will meet with the Mayor in the next week. NEW BUSINESS: • Open position: PR — Michele Fellows has agreed to assume this position from Kay Vreeland. It was suggested by MVT that she meet with Kay to get information. • Marlene and Rita agreed to remain commissioners for another term. This will be presented to the Mayor. • Cultural Event: Some suggestions are Japanese games in schools, Kamishibai storytelling • We will look into some fund raising opportunities. Pam will contact Bar Dojo and Arista. Marlene will look into a partnership with the Rotary rummage sale. Paul will contact the Red Onion. • Five Year Plan update: MVT wants the commissioners to look over the plan and be ready to update/discuss it at the next meeting.
