Treasurer's Report: Carolyn gave the report.
• The public fund has $647.45. There was an expenditure of $388.07 on t-shirts.
• The private fund balance is $1352. $3025.52 was used to purchase tickets for the chaperones to
Hekinan.
PR Report:
• Michele F said the library display would be the month of August.
• Michele took photos of the items in storage and will put together a photo inventory.
Student Report: Beth and Michelle R will be putting together the gift bags. Carolyn has collected some
items for them. Michelle will email the work party date so that any commissioners that are available can
join them.
Correspondence:
• There have been several emails dealing with details for the students.
• Along with the group of students and chaperones, there will be an official Hekinan adult group
coming for the Edmonds 125t" anniversary celebration. They will be here from Aug 9-13.
Members of the group include: Mr. Yamamoto, Mr. Kimbara (deputy mayor), Mr. Subamoto
(chair council) and Hekinan commission members Keiko-san and Emiko-san(the two women will
arrive on Aug 6).

Edmonds Delegation update: They arrived safely in Hekinan and are very busy with activities. They have
been posting regularly on Facebook. A ceramic piece by a local artist was sent as a gift to the mayor.
Hekinan Delegation/Host Family Update: After a bit of shifting around, everyone has a place. Carolyn
will be sending out an update.
AET Update: Jaime introduced herself to the commission. She is very excited and looking forward to
going to Hekinan as the new ALT. All her paperwork is in. She leaves on August 24. She will keep a blog
that we can follow to she what she is doing.
New Business:
Edmonds 125`h Anniversary Celebration: Some of the Hekinan delegation will be performing at 4:50pm.
They will be joined by Keiko and Emiko.

• Paul will be driving the senior bus while the delegation is here.
• There is a meeting location change for future meetings. We will be meeting at the
Frances Anderson Center, Room 113, starting August 2015.
Next Meeting: August 24, 2015 at the Frances Anderson Center.
