B. Student recruitment:
1) Update —The deadline was extended to March 23, 2017. At this time we have five
student applications (2 girls, 3 boys). Discussed ideas to reach out to more students.
Brighton? Dar will go to Lynnwood HS. On March 17, the Diversity Commission is

to target their youth audience.

1) Meet and greet wrap -up —We discussed the event and we all felt it was successful.
2) Student representative — We have no one yet and discussed how to reach out and find
someone.
3) Sister City International — We feel this is a good organization to explore. It might be
good for networking and giving us ideas for reaching some of our current goals. Carolyn
is going to look into what commitment is required to join. There is money in the budget
to do this.
4) Mailing list —We need this for distributing the newsletter.

on the availability of the Brackett room. Michele, Karyn and Marlene will meet on
Friday, March 10, to plan the event. Right now, the commissioners that will attend are
Marlene, Michele, Karyn, Laura, Pam and maybe Patrick.
