January 3, 2013
The Edmonds Citizens' Tree Board Meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Chairman Susan Paine in
the Brackett Room, 121 5th Avenue North, Edmonds, WA.

APPROVAL OF EDMONDS CITIZENS' TREE BOARD MINUTES OF Thursday January 3,
2013
1) Tree Board members present elected Susan Paine as Chairperson, Steve Hatzenbeler as
Vice -Chairperson, John Botton as Secretary, for the year 2013
2) General Discussion about activities:
Tree City U.S.A. "Work sheet for standards for 2012,
March 9 - 16 for tree planting for Arbor Day,
Goals for 2013 (Edmonds City Council presentation by Tree Board for the 2012 year),
Process for the Edmonds city staff for grants.
3) Dave Timbrook (employee with City of Edmonds Parks Dept.) said he could likely work on a
tree inventory this year, to include the trees diameter of trunk and species. This would be in the
downtown area on the busiest streets.
4) Anna Heckman suggested a volunteer sheet for a possible booth at the Edmonds Summer
Market this year, and to possibly have the booth space prior to September.
5) General Discussion: about ideas of outreach to the general public, possible walks in the
woods with children. Possible tree planting ideas to improve existing Cherry trees on 220 St.
S.W. from 76 Ave. W. to 84 Ave. W. Policy for definitions in the tree code.
