MINUTES
June 5, 2014
The Edmonds Citizens' Tree Board Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Susan Paine in the Brackett
Room, 3 Floor City Hall, 121 5t" Avenue North, Edmonds, WA.

1. ROLL CALL:

Board member, Susan Paine, called the meeting to meeting to order. All the Board Members were
present with the exception of Roy Smith, Steve Hatzenbeler and Rene Travis.
2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA:
Board member, Susan Paine, moved to approve the June 3rd agenda seconded by Board Member
Rick Zitzmann. Motion carried unanimously.
3. APPROVAL OF TREE BOARD MINUTES:
Board member, Susan Paine moved to defer approving minutes seconded by Board Member Rick
Zitzmann. Motion carried unanimously.
4. TITLE OF AGENDA ITEM BEING DISCUSSED:
a. City of Seattle — Heritage Tree presentation
Joshua Erickson, SDOT Urban Forestry presented how their Heritage Program works.
b. Outreach
i. Discussion occurred on what activities the Tree Board could be present at to raise public
awareness of its activities and the City of Edmonds sponsorship.
ii. Elizabeth Walker has been contracted to review and organize areas of the City of
Edmonds city code that pertain to tree ordinances, policies, etc. Elizabeth has been
engaged to help with public awareness of the City of Edmonds' tree canopy. Ms. Walker
asked the Tree Board members to complete a prioritized questionnaire, due back to her
due June 23
c. Resolution 418
i. The Tree Board has been asked by Public Works to make recommendations on tree
replacement in easements and for street trees. A draft is being worked.

With no further business, the Edmonds Citizens' Tree Board adjourned at 8:05 pm
