Please review the July meeting minutes and bring comments, corrections.
6) Old Business/Discussion - (30 minutes)
• Marina Beach PAC: Ron, quick update on final Master Plan recommendation
• Street Tree Plan update: Ron, anything new to report?
• Proposed Tree Code progress: Steve will be meeting w/ Mayor Earling and Shane Hope
August 6 to discuss what went wrong and how to improve relations between Staff and Tree
Board on future projects.
• Staff Arborist: Steve hopes to have an update from Rich Lindsay.
7) New Business (60 minutes)
• New member introductions, background. Also a quick round of introductions of current Tree
Board members.
• Discuss goals and interests for all Tree Board members so we can try to build some
momentum for the rest of the year. Emphasis on outreach and education.
• Arbor Day observance and proclamation —when, where, what?
• Tree City USA certification 2015—who is willing to take on this task? Need to coordinate w/
Anna Heckman (former Tree Board member) on what paperwork is required, and how to
assemble the required information/application. Need a volunteer to take this on, or we will not
get our Tree City USA status renewed.
• September 3 meeting: Steve will be out of town, so let's decided if we are going to have a
meeting. Who can/can't make it?
• New Tree Board Vice Chair needed, preferably someone who is interested in stepping into the
role of Chair at end of 2015 or 2016.
