5) Old Business/Discussion
• Arbor Day Celebration and planting event recap. Thanks all for helping!!
• Tree Board University. Any progress?
• Tree City USA certification update from Julia. Growth award potential?
6) New Business
• Urban Forest Management Plan update from Edmonds staff. I've received periodic questions from citizens, City
Council, and Tree Board members on the City's UFMP progress. A staff person will attend the meeting to update
us on progress and projected timeline.
• Tree Board vacancies —if you know someone who would be a good on the board, make sure they know to apply.
We've received at least a couple applications; the application period is open until November 18.
• Event planning for 2017—tree identifier tags? Speakers? Planting event?
I was contacted by the chair of the Pilchuck Audubon Society, who asked about setting up a meeting with the
Tree Board to discuss planning a planting event in the Edmonds Marsh. Also she suggested we may partner
together and respond to a Washington DNR RFP for Tree Planting and Maintenance grants. I want to discuss this
to gauge level of interest among the board.
