March 1, 2018
The Edmonds Citizens' Tree Board Meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Chair Doug Petersen in
the council chambers 5th Avenue North, Edmonds, WA.

1. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 6:01

2. INTRODUCTIONS Members of the Tree Board introduced themselves
3. AUDIENCE
Leslie Smith, possible student rep.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES/notes-They were approved
5. OLD BUSINESS/DISCUSSION
•❑_______ Tree board pamphlet is still to be approved
•❑❑______ UFMP report and meeting with Planning board is still on hold
oil:]-:] ---- Update on upcoming events: April 21 Arbor Day event in Yost Park ; The end of September
Tree Board will have a booth at garden market. Barb Chase will work with Rich Lindsay on ordering 50
prune plum trees for event. Later will choose plants for the drawing.
•❑❑❑❑❑❑❑❑ Gail Lovell will work with Fast Signs for a banner to be used at events. Size and design will
be determined
•❑❑❑❑❑❑❑❑ TB members will get pictures of events (Hutt Park, Hickman Park,Floretum Saturday
workshop, Tree city USA etc.) to Doug Peterson for March 20 PowerPoint presentation
6. NEW BUSINESS
It was moved and seconded that the Tree Board have a student representative.. Motion approved.
Shane Hope will promulgate information to schools about the new student rep position for the
Tree board
7. Tree Board Member Comments
Suzanne Juergensen suggested we have a poster made of good trees so people can be encouraged to
choose good trees. In April she will bring us a sample. She also volunteered to take pictures for TB
events.
Steve Hatzenbeler will contact head custodian to find out why our meetings are not on a calendar. The
council chambers custodian needs to know we will be meeting on the first Thursday of the month from 6-

With no further business, the Edmonds Citizens' Tree Board adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
