Call to Order: 7:00 p.m.
Administration
• Minutes -minutes were approved, seconded and passed by all commissioners.
• Agenda- Agenda was approved, seconded and passed by all commissioners.
• Financials -Carolyn just went over that we had enough sponsorships to pay for the delegation's
week.
Continuing Business
• Adult Delegation
*Itinerary-Karyn and Carolyn ran through the itinerary for the adult delegation visit.
Monday, 10-29- Carolyn and lyoko will meet delegation at the airport, and bring them to
Harbor Inn. Michele, Marlene, Lindsey and Gabe will help by being there earlier. Other
commissioners will join us if possible. Reception with the Mayor will be held for one hour.
Approx. 2:30-3:30.
Food provided-Cheesemongers. 3:30 —Walk with the park ranger through the marsh. 5:30-Leave
the hotel at 5:30 for dinner with the Mayor.
Tuesday, 10-30- Greg will attend dinner, and help out. Karyn and Marlene will be going
to La Conner and Hibulb Center
Wed., 10-31 Foundation for International Services will provide lunch.
Dinner at the Brackett Room -Hamburger Harry's will provide meatballs and wings. We also will
have Asian salad, rice and beverages.
Halloween Party in the plaza room at 7 p.m. Bus will take them back to the hotel.
Thursday, 11-1 Be at the museum by 6 p.m. to help set up. Food/Beverage will be in
back room, small tables will have sister city information.
Agendas will be ready to hand-out. Both mayors will be speaking, Chair of their City Council,
President of their City Council, Hekinan Sister City, Consul General from Seattle.

Hamburger Harry's invites us to karaoke after our dinners, at 8 p.m.
Sponsorships -We have been given over $5000 to fund this week. Great job everybody.

Student exchange

-Dates-July 24t" to August 5t" Edmonds Delegation will be in Hekinan
August 9t" to Aug. 215t
We want 10 students for the student delegation.
We also want to do a big push for chaperones and students, November, December.
ALT-Michelle R. doesn't want to sign on for more time. She will be finished in August.
Hekinan does want to continue the ALT program with us.
If we want to do this, we want a better contract for our ALT's.
We would need to advertise, and have a person selected by April.
We will need a new contract, job description, amenities and salary.
