EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF FILING OF PRELIMINARY 2020 BUDGET & PUBLIC HEARINGS
Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary 2020 Budget for the City of Edmonds was filed with
the City Clerk on October 8, 2019. The City Clerk's Office will furnish a copy for viewing of the
2020 Preliminary Budget to any taxpayer who comes to City Hall to request it. The Edmonds
City Council received the Preliminary 2020 Budget at its Council Meeting on October 8, 2019.
PUBLIC HEARINGS to consider citizens' comments regarding the proposed 2020 Budget will
be held on November 19 and November 26, 2019. The PUBLIC HEARING on the proposed
2019 property tax levies will be held on November 19, 2019.
Scheduled Council meetings and Public Hearings on the 2020 Preliminary Budget and Revenue
Sources are outlined as follows:
• Tuesday, November 4, 2019: Department Presentations of the 2020 Proposed City Budget
• Tuesday, November 12, 2019: Council review of the 2019 Proposed City Budget
• Tuesday, November 19, 2019: Public Hearing on the 2020 Proposed City Budget; Public
Hearing and Adoption of the Property Tax Levy Resolution & Ordinance
• Tuesday, November 26, 2019: Public Hearing and Potential Adoption of the 2020 Proposed
City Budget
• Tuesday, December 3, 2019: Council review and Potential Action on 2020 City Budget
■ Tuesday, December 10, 2019: Council review and Action on the 2020 City Budget (if
necessary)
The 2020 Budget is scheduled for adoption at the Council Meeting of November 26, 2019, or if
necessary, at the Council Meeting of December 3, 2019. The 2019 property tax levies are
scheduled for adoption at the Council Meeting of November 19, 2019. All hearings will be held
in the Council Chamber of Edmonds Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Avenue N., Edmonds,
Washington. Council meetings are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. All interested persons are
encouraged to attend and provide oral and written comments at any of the hearings.
