Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm.

Approval of Minutes
• April board meeting minutes approved.
Finance Report:
• Reviewed March 2019 financial report.
Chair Report:
• Carrie Haslam has suggested putting our Satisfaction Survey up on Survey Monkey
as well as sending it to those who don't use a computer. We discussed adding a
place for an email address on the sales invoice at the cemetery.
• Article by Betty Gaeng on local MIA Melvin Yost was sent to the Beacon and My
Edmonds News for publication before Memorial Day. Dale will make copies for
our table at Memorial Day program.
Staff Report:
• Cemetery staff are working a lot of hours to get the Cemetery ready for Memorial
Day; the banners are up with the date and time for the program.
• The mapping project continues with the input of information into Pontum.
• Rich has a meeting on 5/17 with Cal Construction to discuss work on the
Columbarium spalling. The hope is to work on some of the areas before Memorial
Day.

Old Business:
• Memorial Day - discussions and planning continues; Melissa contacted the Beacon
to correct the theme for Memorial Day and also correct the date for the Walk Back
in Time.
• Programs are printed; posters and flyers are being handed out announcing the
Memorial Day Program. Invite to dignitaries and the press release sent to Carrie
Haslam.
• The Board chose the Edmonds Teachers buried in the cemetery for the WBinT;
Bob Anderson, Ellie and Gus Bonanno, Bill Hamilton, Ed Aliverti and Heine
Sorensen.
New Business:
• We need to make arrangements to add recent board members to our monument at
the cemetery; Jerry Janacek, Peggy Irwin, Joan Longstaff, Tracy Little and Betty
Gaeng.
• Discussed advertising in the Visitor's Guide to Edmonds, it would be a one time ad
and costly. Also will revisit advertising with My Edmonds News at the August
board meeting.
• Discussed possibility of participating in the 4th of July parade handing out flyers
for the Walk Back in Time.
