Edmonds Memorial Cemetery Board Meeting Minutes
June 20, 2019 4 pm

Call to Order
Chair Jerry Janacek called the meeting to order at 4:10 pm.

Melissa Johnson, Excused
Betty Gaeng was contacted by phone, but was traveling and was unable to participate in the meeting.
She will be back at home in July 1. Perhaps we can skype for future board meetings.
Approval of Minutes: Due to lack of a quorum, approval of the May meeting minutes will be considered
at our next meeting.
Chair Report:
• The need for new board members still exists. Melissa has spoken with two potential members,
and Joan may also know of an interested person.
• The next board meeting will be on the fourth Thursday of July, the 25th, following the Walk Back
in Time event.
Financial Reports:
• There were no financial reports available for review.
Staff Report:
• As Rich was not in attendance there was no admin report.
Old Business:
• Memorial Day Review. Perfect weather! There was one negative comment in the Beacon
concerning sitting on gravestones. Jerry will respond to the letter writer thanking him for his
input. Perhaps next year we can arrange for additional chairs. We expect to have a higher
attendance because Michael Reagan will be there. The board extends its thanks to David Little
for filling in the for the Kinetic Singers to lead the singing of the national anthems. We received
many positive comments about inviting the audience members to join in the singing.
• Walk Back in Time. We will meet on July 1 at 3 PM at Sound Credit Union to finalize planning.
All presenters will be attending.

• Surveys
We will table discussion of both items until our August meeting 2018.
