Meeting called to order at 8:07 am
Board Members/Administration in attendance: Apple Catha, Kiersten Christensen, Carrie Hulbert, Jenny
Shore, Mary Kay Sneeringer, James Spangler
City of Edmonds representatives in attendance: Cindi Cruz, Patrick Doherty
Ed! Members/Guests: Carol Sheldon (Carol Sheldon Hair Designs), Pam Stuller (Walnut Street Coffee)
Public Comment: None
Approval of previous meeting's minutes: James moved to approve the meeting minutes of February 14,
2019. Mary Kay seconded. All approved, none opposed.
President's Report:
• Patrick Doherty still needs a board member for the Creative District Committee. James said he
would volunteer if Mark cannot do it.
• Carrie will do a presentation at the Downtown Edmonds Merchants Association (DEMA) meeting
on Friday morning.
Treasurer's Report: Year to date assessments received are $29,201 which is $2,000 lower than last year
at this time, but still good. Total expenses to date are $5,062.70.
New Businesses added to the BID: None, but Advanced Hearing was sold and 409 Main coffee shop is in
the permitting stage.
City Update:
• The State of the City presentation will be Thursday March 7t" at the Edmonds Theater at 8:30
a.m.
• Patrick will set up a meeting to discuss delinquent assessments.
• There will be a workshop in Olympia next Monday for other communities interested in
becoming Creative Districts and Patrick and others from Edmonds will be there to help with
questions and other information.
• The Diversity Committee created quite a stir with a statement they put out and their next
meeting should be interesting.
Committee Updates:
1. Marketing: The article on Ed! restaurants is doing well, and an article on the arts will be out next
week.
2. Appearance & Environment: No update.
3. Communication and Outreach: Salish Crossing expansion: James, Mary Kay and Pam Stuller
visited 6 businesses at Salish Crossing last week. All of the businesses had positive responses to
the visits but no one has signed the petition yet. They will go back next week and revisit those
businesses. Annual Meeting: the meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 on April 17t" at Calypso.
Invitations will be going out on March 15t" which will include a survey and ballots. There will be
a "welcome" table with Ed! stickers and Love, Edmonds stickers and clings as well as a year -in -
review handout and ballots. IPads will be available for members to complete the survey if they
have not done so, and a slide show of Ed's "greatest hits" will loop on the t.v. Special thanks to
Carrie for all of her hard work on the annual meeting.
4. Grant Program: No update.
5. Administration: The committee is continuing to reach out to potential board members. Cheryl
with Certa Law Group will be on the ballot at the annual meeting. Alexandra Rousu and Carol
Sheldon have also agreed to be board members next year, and Matt will be the new President.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 a.m. Next Board meeting March 14th at 8:00 a.m. in the Brackett Room at
City Hall.
