AN ORDINANCE ttEI ATING TO A PENSION, Ri:LD:F', DISABILITY AND HETIRE -
f1 ENT SYSTEM; MAKING AN El.XCTION TO JOIN THE STATEWIDE CITY EM-
PLOYEES RETIRE MENT SYSTEM PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 41.44 RCW; ELECT-
ING A CHOICE; OF "PIUGH G=VICE CREDIT' SOCIAL SECURITY COORDINATION
OR SUPPLEMENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR PROPER NOTIFICATION OF THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE STATEWIDE SYSTEM OF WCH ELECTION,
HE: IT ORDAINED 13Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS:
Section 1. That the City of Edmonds less elected and does hereby elect to
0 participate as a member of the Statewide City Employees Retirement System for
Pension, relief, dik►ability and retirement for the employees of th,e City of Edmonds
as provided by Chapter 41.44 RCw. It it the infant of this Ordinance that sM"regu-
lar and full-time empioyees and officers of said City shall be included in said System;
provided, however, that other officers and employees of said City may be included
thereunder solely at the discretion of the City Council; and provided, further, that
no elective official •tall be included unless said official so elect* and files a written
notice of such election wish the Board of Trustees of said Pension System and with
the City Clerk.
Section 2. That the number of employees and officials, other than hlective
officials, who shall be included as members of said Pension System is approximately
thirty.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance shall be trimmmltted to
the Board of Trustees of said Statewide Syatcn5 as evidence of an election of the City
to join such Pension System.
Section 4, That the basis .for prior service credit shall be .6567 per cent
of final compensation known as One llaif Prior Senzce Credit` .
Section 5. That the basis for Social Security Coverage will be coordination.
81 Section 6. That the basis for contributions shall be ao much of the compen-
sation of a member as does not exceed four hundred dollars per month.
Spvtion 7. Thia ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication
in the mamiet provided by law. j
