Resolution 029RESOLUTION NO. 29 WHEUEASj, on the 7th day of July 1953, Ordinance Noe 637 estab- lishing a Planning Commission for the City of Edmonds was passed,, and WHEREAS, thereafter a Comprehensive Zoning Plan and a Subdivi- sion section of the City Code was adopted, and WHEREAS, a statement of policy setting forth a Comprehensive Plan for the City of Edmonds was inadvertently omitted, and WHEREAS, it is necessary that such a Comprehensive Plan be adopted in order to validate such Comprehensive Zoning Plan and Subdiv- ision Code according to the interpretation of the said law by the Superior Court of Snohomish County. NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Edmonds upon the recommendation of its Planning Commission hereby adopts such a Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the City of Edmonds. THAT such Comprehensive Plan shall designate among other things plans and programs to encourage the most appropriate use of the land, and less congestion throughout the municipality in the interest of public health and welfare; THAT included within this Comprehensive Plan shall be plans for the development of streets and thoroughfares, a Comprehensive Zoning Plan, and a plan helating to subdivisions and plats, and present and probable future locations of publically owned properties including but not limited to parks, playgrounds, sites for schools and other publically owned properties. r ` I 1 r ATTFST� DATE OF •_ PASSAGE' v6g
