Resolution 044 BRESOLUTION NO. 44
WHEREAS, considerable study of the problems relating to parking and
traffic congestion within the City of Edmonds has been mad e, and
WHEREAS, for a period approximating seventy or more calendar days
the City of Edmonds instituted angle parking and established a one-way traffic
pattern for said City, both of which implementations of better traffic flow have
received affirmative public acceptance, and
WHEREAS, in view of such public acceptance and the b-enefits resulting
from angle parking and one-way traffic, it is desirable that such implementation
be made permanent, and
WHEREAS, the use of angle parking and one-way streets and the studies
made of traffic congestion have made the necessity of re-routing traffic to and
from the State ferry terminal apparent,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS that the City of Edmonds recommends to the State
Highway Department that State Highway 1-W through the City of Edmonds be
relocated from its present route north on Fifth Avenue to Main Street and west
on Main Street to the ferry terminal, to the following route:
North on Fifth Avenue to Dayton Street, west on Dayton Street to Third
Avenue, North on Third Avenue to Main Street, and thence west on
Main Street to the ferry terminal.
