Resolution 054RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS , the 1961 State Legislature of the State of Washington, as set forth in Chapter 282, authorized Cities to initiate annexations of contiguous unincorporated property, and WHEREAS, innumerable requests and inquiries have been directed to the City Council of the City of Edmonds as to the use of such enabling legi�;la- tion aforementioned, and WHEREAS, such action is being taken in response to a specific re- quest to the City Council of the City of Edmonds that such above mentioned legislation be utilized, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS: 1. That the said Council has determined that the best interests and general welfare of the City of Edmonds would be served by the annexation of certain unincorporated property, presently contiguous to the said City of Edmonds, and which property is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the north line of the Edmonds Corporate limits, said point being the southeast corner of Lot 92, Edmonds Seaview Tracts, according to recorded plat thereof; thence north and northeasterly along the easterly line of Lots 92 to 68 of said Plat, inclusive, to the intersection of the projection of the easterly line of Lot 68 with the southwesterly line of Lot 42; thence northwesterly along the southwesterly line of said Lot 42 to the S.W. corner thereof; thence northeasterly along the West line of Lot 42 to the northwest corner thereof; thence westerly along the south line of Lot 19, Block 1, Plat of Seahurst, according to the recorded plat thereof, to the S. W. corner of said Lot 19, Block 1; thence northeasterly along the easterly margin of 94th Avenue West to the most southerly corner of Lot 10, Block 1, Plat of Seahurst; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly line of Lots 10 to 16 inclusive to the southeast corner of said Lot 16, Block 1; thence North along the east line of lot 16 to the southerly margin of Olympic View Drive; thence northeasterly along the south margin of Olympic View Drive to the northwest corner of Lot 16, Plat of Dobson Park; thence south 111. 88 feet to the southwest corner thereof; thence east 80 feet to the southeast corner thereof; thence north 146. 5 feet to the northeast corner thereof; thence easterly along the south margin of aforesaid Olympic View Drive to the north -south center line of section 18, township 27 NR 4 EWM; thence north along said center line and along the north -south centerline of Section 7, Twp 27 NR 4 EWM to the south line of the Plat of Talbot Park at the northwest corner of the south half of the southeast quarter of said section; thence east along the north line of said south half of the southeast quarter of section 7 to the center line of 76th Ave. W.; thence southerly along the center line of 76th Ave. W., including those portions known also as Meadowdale Road and Valley Road, to the east -west center line of section 18, Twp 27 NR 4 EWM; thence west along the said east -west center line of section 18 to the center line of 80th Ave. W.; thence south along the said center line of 80th Ave. W. to the projected south line of Lot 1, Block 1, Plat of Oscar E. Jensen's Seattle Suburban Tracts; thence west along the said projected south line and along the south lines of lots 1 and 14 of said Block 1, to the southwest corner of said Lot 14; thence west to the southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 2, of said Plat; thence west along the south line of said Lot 1 to the southwest corner thereof; thence south along the west line of Lots 2 through 7, inclusive, of said Block 2, and along said line extended, to the center line of 192nd Street S.W.; thence west along said center line of 192nd St. S.W. to the center line of 84th Ave. W.; thence south along said centerline td the south margin of S. S. H. #1-W (196th St. S. W. ); thence westerly along said south margin to the northwest corner of Tract 39, Plat of Maplewoad Hills; thence south along the west margin of Tract 39 and along the Plat of Puget View Tracts Div. #2 to the south margin of Govern- ment Lot 1, Section 19, Township 27 North, Range 4 East, W. M.; thence west to the southwest corner of said Government Lot 1 and the existing City limits; thence north and westerly along the existing City limits of Edmonds (Snohomish County, Washington) to the point of beginning; 2. That there are, as nearly as may be ascertained, 1200 voters residing within the above described property. 3. That the City of Edmonds prays that the Commissioners of Snohomish County shall call an election to be held among the qualified voters of the above described area upon the question of annexation; and 4. That, in the event such election shall be called, the said City shall pay for the cost of such election; and 5. That there also shall be submitted to the electorate of the territory above described, a proposition that all property within the area annexed shall, upon annexation, be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as the property of such annexing City is assessed and taxed to pay for any then outstanding indebtedness of the City or Town to which said area is annexed, contracted prior to, or existing at, the date of annexation.
