WHEREAS, after specific request was made to the City Council of the
City of Edmonds that an election be held to determine whether or not certain areas
contiguous to the City of Edmonds should be annexed to said City under Chapter 282,
1961 Session Laws of the State of Washington, the City Council of said City did on
August 1st, 1961, by Resolution No. 55 resolve that such an election be held, and
WHEREAS, since the passage of said Resolution No. 55, numerous addi-
tional requests have been received for the inclusion in the annexation election of other
areas contiguous to and adjoining said area, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is to the best interests of the
City of Edmonds and the citizens of the areas requesting such inclusion that the
boundaries of the area -tan which the annexation election should be held be changed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMOND S:
1. That Resolution No. 55 passed by the City Council on the first day of
August, 1961, be and the same is hereby repealed, revoked and rescinded.
2. That the said Council has determined that the best interests and
general welfare of the City of Edmonds would be served by the annexation of
certain unincorporated property, presently contiguous to the said City of Edmonds,
and which property is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the south line of the corporate limits of
Edmonds on 218th St. S.W. 30 feet east of the projected west line
of 15th Ave. (88th Ave. W.); thence south in a straight line to the
intersection of the center line of 220th St. S.W. with the center
line of 88th Ave. W.; thence east along the center line of 220th
St. S.W. 30 feet; thence south along the east margin of 88th Ave. W.
to the south margin of 228th St. S.W.; thence west along said south
margin to the east margin of 92nd Ave. W.; thence south along said
east margin to the north margin of S. S. H. No. 1-W (Edmonds Way);
thence northwesterly, westerly and southwesterly along said north
margin to the existing city limits of Edmonds at 98th Ave. W.; thence
northerly, westerly and easterly along the existing city limits of
Edmonds to the point of beginning; LESS the plat of Preview Homes,
Westgate Village; (all in Snohomish County, State of Washington).
3. That there are, as nearly as may be ascertained, 500 voters residing
within the above described property.

4. That in the event an election shall be called, the said City of
Edmonds shall pay the cast of such election..
5. That the City of Edmonds prays that the Commissioners of Snohomish
County shall call an election to be held among the -qualified veers of the above de-
scribed area upon the question of annexation; and
6. That there also shall be submitted to the electorate of the territory
above described, a proposition that all property within the area annexed shall,
upon annexation, be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same- basis
as the property of such annexing City is assessed and taxed to pay for any then
outstanding indebtedness of the City to which said area is annexed, contracted
prior to, or existing at, the date of annexation.
