WHEREAS, after specific request made to the City Council of the City of
Edmonds that an election be held to determine if certain areas contiguous to the City
of Edmonds be annexed to the City under Chapter 282, 1961 Session Laws of the State
of Washington, the City Council of the City of Edmonds on the first day of August,
1961, duly passed Resolution No. 54, calling for such election, and
WHEREAS, since the passage and filing of said Resolution No. 54, a
number of additional requests have been received for the inclusion in such annexation
election of areas contiguous and adjacent to the area on which the annexation election
was to be called, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has determined that
it is to the best interests of the City of Edmonds and the citizens of the rea in which
the annexation election is to be held that the boundaries of the area described in
Resolution No. 54 of the City of Edmonds be amended and enlarged,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS;
1. This resolution shall supplement and amend Resolution No. 54 of the
City of Edmonds, passed on August 1st, 1961, by amending and enlarging the boundaries
of the area described in said Resolution No. 54, and substituting other and different
boundaries for thearea described in said Resolution No. 54, as follows:
Beginning at a point on the north line of the Edmonds Corporate Limits,
said point being the SE corner of Lot 92, Edmonds Seaview Tracts, according to
recorded plat thereof; thence north and northeasterly along the easterly line of
lots 92 to 68 of said plat, inclusive, to the intersection of the projection of
the easterly line of lot 68 with the southwesterly line of lot 42; thence north-
westerly along the southwesterly line of said lot 42 to the SW corner thereof;
thence northeasterly along the west line of bt 42 to the northwest corner thereof;
thence westerly along the south line of lot 19, block 1, Plat of Seahurst, ac-
cording to the recorded plat thereof, to the SW corner of said Lot 19, Block 1;
thence northeasterly along the easterly margin of 94th Ave. West to the most
southerly corner of Lot 10, Block 1, Plat of Seahurst; thence northeasterly along
the southeasterly line of lots 10 to 16 inclusive to the southeast corner of said
Lot 16, Block 1; thence north along the east line of lot 16 to the southerly
margin of Olympic View Drive; thence northeasterly along the south margin of
Olympic View Drive to the northwest corner of Lot 16, Dobson Park, according to
the plat thereof; thence south 111.88 feet to the southwest corner thereof; thence
east 80 feet; thence north 146.5 feet to the southerly margin of Olympic View
Drive; thence easterly along said southerly margin to an intersection with the
north -south centerline of section 18; thence north to the north quarter corner;
thence north along the centerline of section 7, Twp. 2.7 N, R 4 EWM, to the N. W.
corner of the south half of the southeast quarter of said section, also being
a point on the south line of Talbot Park, according to the recorded plat thereof;
thence easterly along the south line of Talbot Park and the north line of the
south half of the southeast quarter of said section 7 to a point of said north
line produced east to the centerline of 76th Ave. West; thence southerly along
said centerline of 76th Ave. W., and along the centerline of those portions of
76th Ate. W. known also as Meadowdale, Meadowdale-Edmonds, and Valley Roads, to
tits intersection with the south line of the north one-half of the north one-half of
the southeast one-quarter of the southeast one-quarter of Section 18, Twp. 27 N.,
R4 EWM; thence west along said south line, and along the south line of the
Plat of Sierra Village No. 3, to the centerline of 80th Ave. W.; thence south along
the said centerline to the south margin of 196th St. S.W. ; thence west along said
south margin to the northwest corner of Tract 39, Plat of Maplewood Hills; thence
south along the west margin of said Tract 39 and along the west margin of the
Plat of Puget View Tracts, Division No. 2 to the south margin of Government Lot 1,
Section 19, Twp 27 N, R 4 EWM; thence west to the southwest corner of said Govern -
m ent Lot 1 and the existing city limits of Edmonds; thence north and westerly along
the existing City Limits of Edmonds to the point of beginning; (Snohomish County,
Washington) .
2. That there are, as nearly as may be ascertained, 1500 voters resid-
ing within the above described enlarged area.
3. That in the event an election shall be called under said Resolution No.
54, as amended by this Resolution, the said City shall pay the cost of such election.
4. That the City of Edmonds prays that the Commissioners of Snohomish
County shall call an election to be held among the qualified voters of the above described
area upon the question of annexation; and
5. That there also shall be submitted to the electorate of the territory
above described, a proposition that all property within the area annexed shall, upon
annexation, be assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as the
property of such annexing City is assessed and taxed to pay for any then outstanding
indebtedness of the City to which said area is annexed, contracted prior to, or
ekisting at, the date of annexation.
