Resolution 068RESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS, ALFRED G. SIMPSON has diligently served as Councilman on the Edmonds City Council since 1958, and WHEREAS, during the time so spent he has devoted a great deal of time, effort and ingenuity to the tasks assigned to him as a result of his office, and as a member of the Planning Commission, and on the Water, Organization and Finance Committees of the City Council, and WHEREAS, as Chairman of the Civic Center Committee, Mr. SIMPSON has been in a large measure responsible for the acquisition and building of the Edmonds City Center, which is rapidly nearing completion, and which will be a lasting memorial to his high ideals and devotion to the welfare of the City of Edmonds, and WH E R E A S , the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the officers and employees and many of the citizens of said City, feel that there should be a fitting commendation for the time so spent by an inte- rested and devoted citizen, the rewards for which service have been little pay and sometimes only criticism, and W HE R E A S, it was felt by the said City Council, officers and employees that a permanent record of the commendation should be made, NOW, THEREFORE;; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Edmonds City Council, together with the officers, employees and citizens of Edmonds, hereby commend ALFRED G. SIMPSON for the fine work which he has done during his term as City Councilman. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council meeting of June 19, 1962. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the said ALFRED G. SIMPSON, and an additional copy be given to the "Edmonds Tribune -Review" for publication, in order that the citizens of Edmonds might be made aware of the high esteem and respect which its City officials and Councilmen hold for the said ALFRED G.
