Resolution 071RESOLUTION NO. l/ WHEREAS, CHESTER R. BENNETT has diligently served as City Attorney for the City of Edmonds since June, 1959, and WHEREAS, during his term of office he has devoted his time, effort and ingenuity to the problems and duties of the City Attorney, far in excess of the requirements of such office, and WHEREAS, in addition to the usual duties of his office he was instrumental in protecting the best interests of the citizens of Edmonds in matters of annexation, and in the acquiring and construction of the now nearly completed civic center, and in the codification of the ordinances of the City of Edmonds, the City Code and the Civic Center being lasting memorials to his devotion to the improvement of the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, the City Council, the Mayor, and the other officers and employees of the City of Edmonds, together with many of its citizens, feel that there should be a fitting commendation for the time so spent by Mr. Bennett, and WHEREAS, it is desired that a permanent record of such com- mendation be made, NOW, THEREFORE; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Edmonds, the Mayor, Officers, Employees and citizens of Edmonds hereby commend CHESTER R. BENNETT for his faithfulness, integrity and devotion to the welfare of the citizens of and the city of Edmonds, and for the outstanding work which he has performed during his term as City Attorney. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the minutes of the Council meeting of October 2, 1962. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the said CHESTER R. BENNETT and an additional copy be given to the "Edmonds Tribune -Review" for publication, in order that the citizens of Edmonds may be made aware of the high esteem and re- spect which its City officials and Councilmen hold for the said CHESTER R;,-1 BENNETT.
