A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE REPAIR, CONSTRUCTION OR REPLACE-
MENT OF SIDEWALKS, IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS. SETTING COMMENCEMENT AND COMPLETION DATES
THEREFOR, STATING THAT SUCH IMPROVEMENT SHALL BE PAID FOR BY
THE ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS, ESTABLISHING SIDEWALK CON-
STRUCTION FUND NO. 2, AND SETTING A HEARING DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has determined that
sidewalks, curb.& d gutters abutting certain properties in the City of Edmonds,
hereinafter specified, must be repaired, constructed or replaced, in the inte-
rest of the health, welfare and safety of the citizens of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, the abutting property owners should be required to repair,
construct or replace said sidewalks, at their own cost and
expense, and
WHEREAS, the improvements herein required should be commenced
on or before the (sr day of uAUSUS '� _^, 1963, and completed on or be-
fore the _1 5-Z_day of ^ ZP7-E. 7OCI, 1963, and
WHEREAS, if such repair is not commenced and completed within the
time specified, the City of Edmonds will repair, construct or replace said
sidewalks, , or any of them, and assess the costs against
the abutting property owners, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that a time and place be fixed for a hearing
on this Resolution,
NOW? THERE FORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EDMONDS:
Section 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Edmonds to require the repair, construction or replacement of sidewalks,
in said City,: as follows:
(a) on Third Avenue from Main Street to Casper Street
(b) on Sunset Avenue from Main Street to Casper Street
(c) on Bell Street from Sunset Avenue to Seventh Avenue
(d) on Edmonds Street from Sunset Avenue to Sixth Avenue
(e) on Sprague Street from Fourth Avenue to Sixth Avenue
(f) on Second Avenue North from Bell Street to Casper Street
(g) on Fourth Avenue North from Main Street northerly to Third Avenue
(h) on Fourth Avenue South from Walnut Street to Main Street
(i) on Fifth Avenue South from Pine Street to Maple Street
(j) on Daley Street from Third Avenue to Seventh Avenue
(k) on Sixth Avenue North from Walnut Street to L Street
(1) on Dayton Street from Third Avenue to Ninth Avenue
(m) on Walnut Street from Fifth Avenue to Sixth Avenue
(n) on Maple Street from Fifth Avenue to Eighth Avenue
(o) on Alder Street from Sixth'Avenue to Seventh Avenue
(g) on Main Street from Seventh Avenue to Ninth Avenue
(q) on Seventh Avenue from Alder Street to Dayton Street
in accordance with City standards.
Section 2. That the owners of the abutting property shall be required
to repair, construct or replace the said sidewalks, at their
own cost and expense, and that such improvement shall be commenced not
later than f VT_ A(j4 ,9Sj 1963 and completed on or before

Section 3. That in the event the said improvement is not commenced
and completed within the time specified, the City of Edmonds will repair,
construct or replace the said sidewalks, and assess the
cost of such repair against the abutting property owners.
Section 5. A sidewalk construction fund to be known as Sidewalk Con-
struction Fund No. 2 shall be established, for payment of the costs of such
construction, repair or replacement, to which fund the city may advance as
a loan from any available funds the amounts necessary to pay any costs of the
said sidewalk improvement. When assessment is made against the abutting
property owners for repayment of the cost of such improvement, :payments
therefor shall be paid into the said Sidewalk Construction Fund No. 2, and from
such payments any funds available over the amounts necessary to pay outstand-
ing warrants shall be used for the repayment of any advances or loans made to
such Sidewalk Construction Fund.
Section 6. All persons who may desire to object to the improvement
herein mentioned are hereby notified to appear at the Council Chambers in the
City Hall, in the City of Edmonds, Washington, at a meeting of the said Council,
on the 0day of , 19 63, at the hour of 8:00 otclock p.m.
of said day, then and there to present their objections thereto, if any they have.
