Resolution 082RESOLUTION NO. 9�— WHEREAS, the intersection of Ninth Avenue South and Edmonds Way is now all within the City limits of the City of Edmonds, and WHEREAS, at the peak of traffic volume the traffic control at said inter- section is inadequate and results in an extreme degree of traffic hazard, and WHEREAS, the professional Planner of the City of Edmonds has made a traffic count at this intersection, which count shows over seven thousand cars per day, annual daily average traffic, and WHEREAS, Mr. McLeod of the State Highway Department has made a traffic count at this intersection and has verbally advised officials of the City of Edmonds that his findings indicate justification for the installation of a traffic control signal, and WHEREAS, this matter had some time ago been presented to the State Highway Department with a request for action, and WHEREAS, since this entire intersection is a State Highway and there - f ore under the jurisdiction of the State Highway Department, it is not deemed ad- visable for the City of Edmonds to undertake installation of a traffic control signal, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HERESY RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Edmonds does hereby request that Paul McKay, Engineer for the State Highway District No. One, take immediate action to effect the installation of an adequate traffic control signal at the intersection of Ninth Avenue South and Edmonds Way to prevent the continuous, unnecessary traffic hazard that presently exists. y r• DATED at Edmonds, Washington, this day of June, 1963.
