Resolution 104 ARESOLUTION NO. 104
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds has the
responsibility of local legislation and otherwise providing
necessary public services for the betterment of the community it
is elected to serve, and
WHEREAS, said legislative authority of the City of
Edmonds deems the cultural and recreational development of the
City of Edmonds to be of paramount concern to the general public,
WHEREAS, in order for such public purposes to be
fulfilled it is necessary that adequate recreational and cultural
facilities be made available for the use and benefit of the public
at large, and
WHEREAS, the Park Board of the City of Edmonds is a
permanently established body created by the City of Edmonds
pursuant to statutory law of the State of Washington for the
purpose of evaluating and making recommendations for the mental
and physical development of the citizens of the City of Edmonds,
and
WHEREAS, the Driftwood Players of Edmonds, Incorporated,
is a nonprofit corporation, incorporated under the laws of the
State of Washington, dedicated to the purposes of portraying the
fine arts and raising the cultural and educational standards of
the public, now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE that the Park Board of the City of Edmonds undertake to
meet and study in co-operation with the Driftwood Players of
fonds, Incorporated, for the public purpose of recommending
the most feasible, economic and generally advantageous procedure
to provide facilities for the farther enhancement and develeprient
of the cultural and recreational environment for the citizens of
the City of Edmonds.
