A RESOLUTION of the City of Edmonds
Washington commending the services
of ROY SORENSEN for his services to
the City of Edmonds and the citizens
thereof.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desirable that a community
accord public recognition for outstanding public service ren-
dered by individual citizens, and
WHEREAS, ROY SORENSEN has diligently served as a City
Councilman of the City of Edmonds, Washington until such time
as he felt it necessary to voluntarily retire against the wishes
of the Mayor, the remaining councilmen, and other officials and
employees of the City of Edmonds, and
WHEREAS, in addition to the duties of City Councilman,
ROY SORENSEN has served as Chairman of both the Street Committee
and the Auditing Committee, and has served as a member of numer-
ous other committees including the Safety Committee and the
Finance Committee and in addition to his services in his capa-
city as City Councilman he has generously given of his time
to the citizens of Edmonds as a volunteer fireman, and
WHEREAS, during the time so spent, ROY SORENSEN, has
devoted himself unselfishly, with only token monetary remuner-
ation, to the spirit of bettering the community in which he
lives and which he has so painstakingly served, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edmonds, and the
officers and employees of said City deem it only fitting that
a commendation should be issued herewith for the time and effort
so spent by ROY SORENSEN and that said commendation should be
made a part of the permanent records of said City of Edmonds,
now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
that ROY SORENSEN be hereby commended for his untiring efforts
and excellence in his endeavors on behalf of the said City, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDMONDS that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the said
ROY SORENSEN and an additional copy be entered in the permanent
records of said City in order that the citizens of the City of
Edmonds be forever aware of the high esteem and respect in
which he is held.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edmonds this
18th day of May, 1965.
