Resolution 122 ARESOLUTION NO. WHEREAS:, the provisions of the Marine Recreation Land Act, the $10,000,000 Outdoor Recreation Bond Issue of 1964, and the U.S. Land and Water Conservation Act of 1965 provides for financial assistance for outdoor recreational projects for municipal corporations, and WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds desires to acquire fee simple title to certain lands commonly referred to and the estimated values being, "East Seaview Park" ($40,600), "Rex Strickland Property" ('$90,000), "Hummingbird Hill Park" and "Lake Ballin- ger Site" (together $13,500), "Maplewood Ravine" C$101,500) and "South Edmonds Park" ($42,000), which land, in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan as supplemented by the Comprehen- sive Parks and Recreation Plan, adopted by the City of Edmonds, is to be held and used for open -space land for park and recrea- tional purposes and conservation of scenic waterfront; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the total consideration to be paid for the acquisition of said interests will be $287,600.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That an application be made to the State of Washington Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation which amount is presently estimated to be $215,700.00 of which $71,900.00 would be State matching funds and $143,800.00 would be federal match- ing funds and that the City of Edmonds will pay the balance of the consideration for the acquisition of such interests and the total of all related costs from its own funds and such other funds as may be available to it. 2. The Mayor of the City of Edmonds is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such application with the State of Washington Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation, to provide additional information and to furnish such documents -93- as may be required by said Agency, to execute such contracts as are required by said Agency and to act as the authorized correspondent. 3. The proposed acquisition is in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan as supplemented by the Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan, adopted by the City Council of the City of Edmonds, Washington for the preservation of open -space land. 4. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the State of Washington Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recrea- tion as part of application or applications for matching funds.
