A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EDMONDSr WASHINGTON,
COMMENDING THE CASCADE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA,
AND URGING SUPPORT THEREOF.
WHEREAS, some expressions of mind and art have no bound-
ary or barrier in nationality or time, and transcend hemis-
pheres and history, and
WHEREAS, diligently we expose and educate our children
in home and in school towards appreciation of the immortal
symphony works of the timeless masters from most parts of the
world and many eras of time, only to find upon maturity a vac-
uum of continued appreciation, and
WHEREAS, in Western Washington there are but three Cities
that are the beneficiaries -of symphony orchestras, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edmonds members itself one of those
three by being favored by the CASCADE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA,,
now in its fifth and finest season, numbering eighty pieces,
under the capable direction of conductor -director ROBERT B.
ANDERSON, with member musicians from all walks of life, with
guest artists from all parts of the world, and with an appre-
ciative audience from all parts of the northwest, and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate and desireable that the community
award public recognition for outstanding public service, now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS,
WASHINGTON, that the CASCADE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, and those
who participate in it and make it possible, be and the same
hereby are commended in this their fifth rewarding season, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that patrons from throughout the
Northwest be and the same hereby are urged to attend and support,
musically and financially, the CASCADE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA to
the end that it enjoys the immortality of the music it performs.
